About

LearnSousVide

An independent sous vide reference for making better decisions about time, temperature, preparation, texture, and finishing.

Who maintains the site

LearnSousVide is an independent cooking-reference project maintained by John Hentrich. It is not sponsored by an appliance manufacturer or food brand. For content questions, corrections, or site feedback, email admin@learnsousvide.com.

What we publish

The public library focuses on Sous Vide food guides and method references. Food pages explain the variables that change the result, while the reference pages cover setup, timing, bagging, finishing, and safety concepts that apply across foods.

Where the guidance comes from

Every guide starts in a source file that can be reviewed and updated. This helps us keep temperatures, units, headings, and safety notes consistent across the collection.

We do not claim that every guide has been tested in every appliance or kitchen. Food thickness, starting temperature, altitude, ingredients, and circulator performance can all change the real cook time, so use the guide's texture and thermometer checks along with the clock.

Corrections and updates

If something looks wrong, send the page URL, the statement or value in question, and any supporting source. We compare the report with the guide's source and current government safety advice, then update both the source and the public page when a correction is needed.
